Bajet 2013 - What will I benefit from it

Well, amongst the anticipated event every year has taken place today. Our PM's had presented his budget speech which I believe being watched/listened/followed by the whole Malaysian's. I would say a lot's of good stuff provided for wide range of people. BR1M, reduce of tax, higher tax relief etc..etc..For certain business sector, they also will enjoy much incentives. (Tourism, agriculture, O&G). Certainly I hope the total RM249.7 bil would be used wisely and not benefited only for certain people only.

As a Malaysian (tax paying citizens), I want to look and see what those are things that I would expect to directly benefited from it.

Bajet Incentives
What I will benefit from it
50 percent off passport fees for senior citizens starting Jan 2013
This is good, I can sponsor my Mom passports at half price. So, I can bring my mom's holiday abroad.
Additional 150 staff for Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC)
Hmm, let's me think if any of my family member's suited for this position.
RM200 rebate for smart phone purchase for those aged 21 to 30 years.
Maybe I can take this opportunity to reward my neice/ nephew with new SP. This would motivate them to perform better in their study.
First home scheme – income cap raised from RM3,000 to RM5,000. Join income limit is RM10,000. Applies only for houses below RM400,000
Aiyah!!.. this one too late to come. Should enhance for 2nd house for me to entitle it.
Real property gains tax (RPGT) for properties sold within two years of purchase raised to 15%;  2-5 years 10%. No RPGT for properties sold five years after purchase
Hopefully it will control and reduce house price, It really a heartbreaks when RPGT was abolished few yrs ago where the property prices hike's like hell.
Original buyers of abandoned projects will be exempted from stamp duty for loan refinancing or ownership transfer agreements
Am I one of the victim of 'abandoned projects'. ?? Need to get a further info on this. It can saved me up to 6k for stamp duty if this can be applied to me.
 Bantuan Rakyat 1Malaysia (BR1M 2.0)
RM500 cash for households with combined income of RM3,000 or less

RM250 cash for unmarried individuals who are 21 and above and earning RM2,000 and below
"BR1M 2.0" what a nice tag and I'm sure my family, relatives, village-mate etc would like it. I can see my HP will be   busy again next year when they want me to check their status.

My mom, grandma, sis and bro sure can get this and my niece/ nephew too..
Sugar prices to increase as a result of subsidy cuts by RM0.20. New prices are RM2.50 per kilo for Peninsular Malaysia and RM2.60 per kilo for Sabah and Sarawak.
OMG!!. As usual one thing can lead to another. Increase in 20cents of sugar, all the things related to sugar will increase.   The 'greedy' tokey will use this as an excuse to increase price. You name it, teh tarik / bread/ cake / sweets? F&B.. Aiyah.. maybe the bright side is my chance to get diabetics is lower.
1% tax reduction for those with a taxable income of RM2,500 to RM50,000
Let see whether this year I still fall under this group. Last year I'm at this tax bracket. This year I don't think so.
One-off payment of RM100 for each primary and secondary school student
Surely my 'orang kampung' will delighted about this. Hopefully they use it wisely..
20% discount for National Higher Education Fund (PTPTN) loans for those who pay off the entire amount outstanding (valid until Sept 30, 2013)
As my study not  financed by PTPTN, I cannot enjoyed this. But, definitely my wife should benefited from this. So dear wifey, lets plan our finance.
10% discount for PTPTN loan repayment for those who pay consistently

One and a half month bonus, disbursed in three months.
Congrats to my family/relatives/fren who enjoyed it. Use the money wisely ok. Hopefully our HQ will fight for more this year.
RM25,000 for free mammogram examination for women, aged 40 and above.
 My mom's :)
 Bajet Impact on market.
Share market will increase. Hopefully my penny stocks will go up next week. Just now from TV show, the experts hinted that telco's & consumer related products will increase. Stay away from property  developer he say. hehe

And the rest, I will benefited from it direct or indirectly later. So, let's see what it will effect the coming for GE.

Buying a house - buy before its too late..

In the first quarter of 2009 (property bubble era @ KK, Sabah), I had taken a big step to getting in one of the biggest commitment for a 'makan gaji' fella like me. That commitment was to buy a new house. My fiancee (now wife) also urging me to buy a house to show to my in-laws that I'm ready to be a leader in a family.

After a several visits to developer's office and show house, we had decided to buy a double-storey-intermediate house at Kinarut. 1270 sqft for RM255,000 (RM200psf) considerably a bit expensive for that type of house at that time.

But I wish I had better choice considering my loan eligibility and my financial situation for once i had to serve the monthly payment later. There a few 'good' choices of house but I had to top up with my own money which is out of my ability. Topping up RM60K-80K is very burdening and even I have that money, I need it for my wedding which scheduled on the 3rd quarter of the year.

Serve me right (padan muka) for me because took so long to decide buying a house. I was so worried that I don't have enough money to fulfill my monthly needs. I wonder how big and nice house I can buy with the price of the house I'm buying. My friend who bought a house a house a year early enjoy a cheaper house with bigger sqft and promising area. Till now, I am so jealous of him and at the same time admiring his brave effort.

So, for those young working ladies and gentlemen who is in the category of capable to buy a house, do not wait to long to buy a house. Time won't wait for you and bare in mind that property price is keep increasing no matter how the economic situation. Do not worry about your monthly commitment for at least the next 18 months because the loan repayment will only started at least after 18 mths from the purchase date. And 1 important fact that I missed that time is that every year my salary will get increment. SO by that time I served the monthly payment, it wouldn't burdening me much. Recently one of my friend informed me that he bought same type of house at the same area which cost him around RM300K++... I believe he would be as regret as me for not taking the opportunity earlier.

Small Time Investor with a minimum capital and tiny knowledge.

My interest in share investment increased back in 2008 when most of my close friends getting crazy about investing, During that year my life commitment wasn't as much as these recent years so I have some little extra money to invest in share market. Most of my lifetime saving I would put in my ASB account which is a very secure and considerably giving a good return. But I couldn't resist to join the club because of the fun and challenge in growing money by my own effort. Without a tiny knowledge in investment, I had withdrawn some of my ASB money and make the first purchase of share which is K*M. A very hot shares during that time. Moreover one of my friend said he got tips from his friend which is a very reliable source that this stock will jump.

My first investment mistakes; Greedy and over-ambitious
With about in a month, this stock had raised 20cents. By end of the year I had gone up to RM1? 100% increase from my purchase price (50cents). I was very happy that i had doubled my money in less than a year. Worth than waiting for a year got get my return in ASB. 100% compared to 7%.crazy.. For a wise investor, they might already sold it and multiply the money. As for me, greediness and over-ambitious had dominate all. Instead of 100% return, why can i wait for 200%, 300% or 1000% return. Since I foolishly believe that this stock gonna give me a huge return, I decide to hold an wait for my dream to come. As most of my friends already enjoyed the gain they make from this stocks, I waited and waited until a year plus until one gloomy day this stocks had some issue which resulting the share price plunged like a matured durians. My expected return which originally from 100% had slowly decreased to 70%, 20 % until I loss -30%. I have done nothing and instead waiting and hoping it will come up again. I just keep this to my self without telling to my friend to avoid being embarrassed of not joining them making profit. There's one time that the stock consolidated 4:1. So my number of shares reduces but increase the value. That exercise had brought up this stock value to 30% on my return. At that time,  I again doing nothing until it dropped drastically. So, as at today, my loss stood at -150% . I wanted to average it down but, it's not just worthily to done so.
I am now just hoping it will rise again to at least get my capital back. I can conclude myself as greedy at the wrong place and wrong time.

Kampung Tamui Papar - my experience in the 88's -98's. part 1

I was born and raised here. Between 1988 to 1998, I had a very wonderful experience to be part of this kampung boy. But why stop at 1998? This is because soon after SPM result, I had left kampung experience for further studying as well as working.

Before that let me introduce my kampung which is Kampung Tamui Papar and some say Tomui. It is located between Kampung Kinuta and Kampung Biau. I was told that the name "tomui' came from the name 'oyomui' in Kadazan language which means dirt. It was happened long ago where a big flood had hit and as a result a lot of dirt (rubbish) at all over the places. Since then the elderly had named this places as TOMUI. What a nice name isn't it?

This kampung has 3 section which includes;
1. YUNDUK - Riverside along sungai Papar
2. TAKAD - Near hilly and at the centre of the kampung.
3. DOKUDUNG - Near a swamp area which facing the paddy field.
4. PAPAK -a new settlement which is located at once upon a time a farm near a river.

As at now, there's a new 'settlement' at the northern side of the kampung  which I haven't found out the name yet. But well I can consider it a 'Kampung Baru'.

Ok..enough of history as I'm not the right person to tell it. What I'm going to write is the special about Tamui@Tomui back in 90's.

1. Postmen doesn't need to send the letter here
No specific address for each house house number. The postman only have to put in the letter into box at post office at town. Only a few had a key to the postbox and will come and collect those letter once a while.
JKKK or ketua kampung or Uncle T will take the letter and distribute it to the kampung people. The best place to put the letter was at Uncle T place because it was a 'pajak' there (will explained it later).

2. Pajak & Kampung-made-alcoholic drinks
A pajak is a name for kampung's bar which opens 7 days a week and open as long as the 'tuak pagung' is there. At that time a beer / whisky etc considered expensive so it was a popular choices among the 'kaki-minum'. Well, pajak actualy it also not a place to get drunk only but a place for people to get-together especially during weekends. There's a time where a 'tuak kelapa' has become so popular due to it's sweetness and much nicer than tuak pagung.

There's a few nenek's are doing this tuak kelapa (Mamai O, Mamai P, Mamai N, Nenek Manih, Mamai D). And you know what, they blend it really fine until it becomes hot selling 'drinks'. U need to book in advance during peak period. Due to it limitness,  it priced higher than tuak pagung. and there comes "tapai" ..

My Aunt R was the specialist for this one. But this tapai mainly consumed during special occasion and due to its specially used ocassion, it's a bit expensive. But don't worry, the brilliant minded Aunt has come up a solution to make sure there's always demand for tapai. There's comes 'tumpung' ..a mini compact size of tapai which is more affordable to a schoolboy like us..

3. Looking for 'reward' Rosary Prayer (In the month of October)
This is among the most waited season of the year. Every October, each house in the kampung will take turn to host a prayer at their respective house. The Christian community leader will come up with a schedule with a guide on who is on duty during that prayer session. Of course I'm among one of the person on-duty. What I like most about this praying session is we can meet each others or meet new friend. So the interesting part for this prayer session for us is the 'makan-makan' session. Yeah, it can be considered as reward for us after prayer. The common food being offered by the host is COFFEE and 'Biskut Marrie' and biskut keras. Some will offer kuih, porridge etc.. We will not missed some house's which they will offer a very yummy food and delicacies expecially Uncle F.

3rd year anniversary

It's been 3 years of my marriage anniversary with my lovely wife. Our relationship started back in 2005 and in total 8 years of knowing her. Before marriage, I have never failed to have a anniversary gift /surprise to her. For the 1st year of being husband n wife, I surprise her with a surprise cake n gifts. And guess what, she also give me something special. She cooked us a dinner with a alcohol free wine with a candle light experience.

But this year, i'm sure she's a bit disappointing with me because I seems doing nothing at our anniversary.  Am I bad husband? Forgive me my dear, it's not that i dont want to do anything. Is just that mr.money$$ a bit tight this moment. I promise will repay it when the times comes. For me.. every month are our anniversary.

23/09/2012------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Guess what...yesterday my wife had cooked our anniversary dishes which is as good as restaurant cooking.
At first I decide not to take dinner yesterday, but she insisted to cook for dinner. When seeing her determination in wanting to cook for me and with a little a bit of her deary persuasion, I had to let her cook while I'm doing my man's job.

Exactly at 8.30 pm.. this is the result...
2012-09-22 20.59.03.jpgMenu for the belated anniversary:

2) Fish-ball green beans
3) Steam carrot.

and a must have side dish >> mom-in-law special condiment..

It really open up my appetite until I have to finish 2 plates of rice..

Thanks my dear,,, blurpppp...opst,,,hehe
